More details. Less waste. The message from WhizCut is straightforward at Elmia Machine Tools, in Sweden, and perfectly aligns with the fair’s theme of  “sustainable industry”.

The WhizTwin 20 parting off tool is one of WhizCut’s latest innovations, enabling  manufacturers to reduce material waste. Currently, the metalworking industry industry is transitioning towards more sustainable development, a shift that Elmia Machine Tools has highlighted and made the theme for the 2024 fair.

— Everyone knows that sustainable development means we need to conserve our natural resources so they last longer. And that’s exactly what we had in mind with WhizTwin 20, says Niclas Axelsson, Sales Manager for Scandinavia at WhizCut, and continues:

— It’s more sustainable to maximize the use of bar material, producing more parts and less waste.

With WhizTwin 20 and the other geometries in the WhizTwin series, it’s possible to part off with a smaller tool. Here, millimeters make a big difference for the environment.

— It’s possible to reduce the cutting width by half to one millimeter and, over time, save thousands of meters of bar material. WhizTwin has a smaller cutting edge that is just as stable and effective as a larger conventional one, says Niclas Axelsson.

The optimized efficiency of WhizTwin 20 means that machining processes require less time and energy, contributing to overall energy savings and reducing the carbon footprint of manufacturing operations. Less waste combined with reduced energy consumption also significantly lowers manufacturing costs for customers.
