WhizCut’s Swiss-type lathe tools have sharper cutting edges than other tools, better chip control, and are more stable. The advantages are fundamentally the same in both machine types. However, in the long run, the profit is much greater in multi-spindle machines, according to Markus Rauschnabel, because they produce larger series. The first customer to adopt Markus’s “think-outside-the-machine” proposal was a German company producing bone screws for the medical industry.
— But the solution is not only for the medical industry; WhizCut’s tools are ideal for all producers manufacturing many parts, specifically in the electronics industry, he says.
WhizCut has developed a product line with standard holders for multi-spindle machines and also creates custom solutions based on customer requests. Markus Rauschnabel has not heard of any other company that manufactures cutting tools for Swiss-type lathes that has also entered the multi-spindle market.
— Of course, there may be tools for Swiss-type lathes in multi-spindle machines, but I have not seen any company that has developed specific holders and its own product line for it — as WhizCut has now done.
